I LOVE THIS BOOK. The story is so sweet and simple. There is a great sense of family unity and using what you have to be creative. The art work is beautiful. I think I really like this book because I did go to school and girls can be just plain mean. But Daddy's are wonderful and have the ability to make a daughter and family feel on top of the world. I cried at the end of this book. I know?? I surprised myself. Actually, I cry every time I read this book! Poor Ellie, what a crazy Mom she has. Also...the kids at our church would appreciate this one...the main character likes to go bare foot! Check it out from your library, and if you do let me know what you think! You might cry too. :)
