Recent Read Aloud ~ Leaving Protection

This is a read aloud some of the kids and I just finished. A teenage boy, Robbie, wants to earn money fishing for king salmon.  He has to leave home, his mom, dad, and little sister, to even find a boat that will take him on. He ends up finding maybe the most disgruntled and hard-headed man to work for, Tor. Surprisingly, Tor takes him on because his back is giving him problems, but there's more than just fishing that Tor wants help with. Robbie ends up proving himself to Tor as a fisherman but can he prove himself as a treasure hunter too?

It was a fun read!

Baptismal Candles in the Orthodox Church

These are some baptismal candles I made this week for two friends at church, both men. I wanted them to be simple and nice, but still masculine.  My husband is their godfather! For the little crocheted crosses, I found a free tutorial online.  It was a blessing to be able to contribute to their special day.

Life Lately ( From December 2024)

This was a post I wrote December 10,2024 and forgot about it!

It's gotten colder here so we are adjusting with fires in the wood stove, good books, and board games. I have grown to love winter, I actually struggle more in the summer. I love to be outside but it can get so hot and humid  here it makes it challenging to be outside for long
