Christmas Lights and Hot Chocolate

 Wednesday night I filled our to go cups with hot chocolate and we hit the road to view all the beautiful Christmas lights. We played Christmas music as we drove.  Ash Grove really has a lot of homes that go all out.  Clay and I wonder how some of these people get the lights on their second story.  :)

 I love this game so much! I wish all the kids liked it but only Boaz and Felicity will play with us. It is a pretty long game. Daddy was the winner this time! :)  

OH DEER...

 A few weeks ago some dear friends took Eleanor and Athanasius deer hunting. They had such a good time! We were so surprised they both got one. Boaz went out the next day and hit one but didn't go down. They followed the blood trail for a while but it started raining and they lost it. We were afraid he would be pretty bummed but then our friends took him to lunch and it seemed any sadness from his lost deer was forgotten. 

What you don't see in this picture was the huge cooler below the table so full of meat. It took us five hours to work it all. Clay and the boys were the main processors, so proud of them!! We learned a lot and I can think of a few things that will make it easier and quicker next time. 

~Frugality~

 I have done some frugal projects around the house! They were really fun and cost pennies.  My favorite!

With the kids help I painted this book shelf. I made this paint from a couple gallons I had on had.  I think it really brightened up this corner. 

This is a shelf in our bedroom that stores my fabric, scarves, purses, and Moses' clothes.  It's all in baskets but can still look untidy. I made this curtain from a tablecloth I bought for $.50 and I already had the rod. 

I painted the back door (and the front door) with the same paint as the shelf. I made this curtain from a different tablecloth that also cost $.50! The curtain rod it made from a branch we found. You can a lot with branches. :)  **Felicity helped paint the front door, thanks girl!! **

I made this planter from an empty coconut oil container. I sewed the cover with fabric I had on hand. I also already owned the plant. :) 

I love little nesting projects like these! Using what I have and making do can be a lot of fun, it's like a challenge.
