This is a wreath I made today, I found all the supplies at Hobby Lobby for half off! I might add a few more sprigs in a couple places. I was going for a just picked from the garden/ shabby chick/romantic look. I like it!

  4. I never seem to be able to write you just once... Thought you might get a kick out of this:

My kids are obsessed with the name "Athanasius" now, and when they play at having sword fights everyone wants that title, because they are sure "that's the toughest!" Very cool name! :)

I have loved all the pictures in your blog recently and am wondering how you never ended up modeling, although that is probably a world that you would not enjoy being a part of with all the junk that comes with it. Anyway, I think you are a very beautiful person, inside and out.

    Goodbye again,

  5. Rebekah--Thank you! :)

Marisha--It was super easy, I bought the wire frame for the wreath in the floral section for 1.99. Then I would make a little bundle of springs and lay them on the frame at the angle I liked, wrap floral wire around the flowers and frame, or, I just used some hemp stuff I had on hand. Continue making bundles and layering them so that you never see where you attached the previous bundle. Does that make sense? It is really very easy! Just do whatever works for you! :) I spent about $15 altogether, but I plan on stowing this away in the Fall and Winter seasons and using it as long as it will make it. :) Wreaths are sooo expensive if you buy them already made, and it is more fun to make what you want, Hobby Lobby has such a great selection too---if you make one let me know how it turns out. :)

Mrs. Groves--Thanks! I was actually sitting at the computer with the "Elf Child" when you commented. :)

    Love~ Brooke

  6. Hey Brookie!

I love the wreath! It looks so cute on your green old door. I really like the combo of ribbon and hemp that you used to tie it with and how wimsicle(sp?) it looks. Just wish I could see it in person :) Love you!

  7. Thanks Abbey!! I wish you could see it in person too. :) I was a little unsure about the ribbon/hemp but since YOU like I will keep it. Do you have a wreath for your door yet? love you! ~Brooke

  8. Mrs. Groves, that is hilarious about your kids wanting to be called Athanasius!! Your kids are great! Last night I asked Clay which was his smartest student, he never really gave me an answer but the first thing he said was, "if you want to know how any machine works just ask Isaiah!" :) We think that is neat! love,Brooke

  9. Well. if spring won't come to Mrs. Pearlstein, she will grab it by it's scrawny neck and wrap it around a wire. LOL Very colorful & bright.

  10. Clay and I really liked your comment Mike Webb. Clay said, "Now that's poetry!" :) As I type we are in the process of ripping up the carpet in our upstairs and painting the walls "creamy mint" --- When we were picking out the paint I told Clay I want something that will defeat and conquer winter gloom. I think we are going to win! (Am I a Wright or what??--ripping up carpet AND painting)I will post pics soon...Have a great weekend...great profile picture! :) love, Brookie

  11. I LOVE that wreath! It makes me happy just looking at it on the blog post. You did a great job with it! Now I want one :-). I saw some at the Colonial Williamsburg marketplace online that were very similar:

  13. Just a little note to say that I miss the Pearlstein blog updates - and I also understand that life keeps rolling and you don't have all this free time to sit in front of the computer! Just know that you have fans out here, whether you are able to update or not. :)

    {I hope this won't sound like whining - main point was to let you know you're not forgotten & we still check in with you.}

    Love from all the Groves,

    Cathy

  14. My mom use to make wreaths and wall center pieces. Eucalyptus works really well and lasts a long time. Just be sure to wrap your wreath in plastic to keep it from getting too dusty. Your wreath is beautiful :) good job. And feel free to follow I blog if you want. Thanks for the allergy advice :)
