Ginger Bread Houses 2014

This weekend we made ginger bread houses.  Ours are graham crackers that I hot glued together.  This is our second year of doing this and I think this is one of our favorite traditions.  I like to have a lot of candy for the kids to chose from, but that also means there will be a lot to clean up. :)  Everyone spent a lot of time on their house.  I put a Papa Murphy's pizza in the oven so we could eat dinner as we created.  And then since Clay and I were the last to finish we put on Grinch for the kids.  It was a lot of creative, messy fun.

This pic accidentally got uploaded but I love it too much to delete it.

 Hot glue is my friend.

I put the frosting in a ziploc and snipped a little hole in one of the corners.  It worked well for the kids to use the frosting.

I made a church for Clayton.   It was Ellie's idea to make it two story.

As long as we kept giving Felicity food she was good to go.

Can you guess what kind of house I made?  A Tiny House!! It has the shed roof that I love.

 Sweet girl!!

 The creative juices are flowing!

Boaz did a great job on his house but was more taken with the honey pretzels. :)   His right hand is in the container.

 Oh this boy!
 My favorite people!
I wanted to get a picture with each person by their house. This is all I could manage, once The Grinch was started and then clean up it was just chaos.

This is Bo's house.   I love the tree with like 5 mini marsh mellows.  Great job Boaz!

This is Athanasius' house.  He really put a lot of effort into it.  I love it!

This is Eleanor's house.  She has a lot of fun organizing everything.  Great job!

This is Clayton's church.  I really love it.

This is my Tiny House.  That marsh mellow on the left is a rain water barrel. :) My candy/pretzel axe.   I used peppermints for the wheels of the trailer.

Our finished products!  So thankful for this memory.

  1. Hadassah: "They are so cute." Oh, and "Hi" to Eleanor!

By 'they' Hadassah is referencing the gingerbread houses. When I say it, I definitely meet your children - they are SO cute, Brooke!

Thanks for the post. Hadassah and I enjoyed looking at the creations. I had no idea you were on the Tiny House scene, so that gave me a good smile.

Blessings to you & your family!
